DOUBLE GOLD FOR BODEGAS ALTUN
Bodegas Altún, located in Baños de Ebro, in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa, have been awarded two gold medals at the 32nd edition of the “Challenge du vin” international wine contest for their ALTUN RESERVA 2003 and ALTUN CRIANZA 2005 wines.

The judges, a panel of experts from the winemaking and restaurant sectors along with a large number of consumers, consisted in a total of 828 tasters of different nationalities, world references in the sector.

In the blind tasting held in Bordeaux, (cradle of wine par excellence) on the 12th April of last year, 5,129 wines from 35 different countries took part, with only 235 of these being recognised with the “gold medal” insignia, two of them from this bodega with a deep-rooted family tradition.

It is an honour for José Antonio Martinez, owner of Bodegas Altún, to receive such worldwide recognition, as his was one of the few bodegas to receive two gold medals for their wine and this simply confirms a constant, continuous path in pursuit of quality and the expression of the terroir in his wines.
